Chümoukedima, August 1: The LI-NING 47th Nagaland State Badminton Championship 2025 concluded on Friday with electrifying final matches at the K. Kire Indoor Badminton Stadium, NAPTC, Chümoukedima. The event brought together Nagaland’s finest badminton talents, marking an exciting finale to a week of competitive play.
This year’s championship saw 159 players from 17 districts and the Nagaland Police competing for top honors. The team events featured participation from 13 districts, with 12 teams in the Men’s Team Championship and 13 teams in the Junior Boys Team category. A total of 140 matches were played across different categories, making it one of the most dynamic state tournaments in recent years.
Celebrating Sportsmanship and Growth
Speaking as the special guest, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Training) Imnalensa lauded the Nagaland Badminton Association (NBA) for its dedication in organizing the event annually despite numerous challenges. He highlighted the association’s “unwavering commitment” and urged young players to keep refining their skills through consistent practice.
Imnalensa praised the athletes’ enthusiasm, noting that their participation “brought energy and life” to the championship. He encouraged Nagaland’s youth to stay passionate about sports and aim for excellence.

In the team categories, Niuland district claimed the top spot in the Junior Boys’ division, followed by Mokokchung in second place. In the Men’s category, Dimapur emerged as the champion, while Chümoukedima secured the runner-up position.
